Actually I do not know too much about SI training as I can not join the group training in school. All the knowledge I got is from BK mummy here and talking to OT.
My son did not like to swing in the park before, and he would sit on the swinging horse in the park for one second and got down immediately. But now, he can ride the swinging horse back and forward when I count from 1 to 60 even. And we tried the swing in the park last saturday. He did not reject as before and could play for 5 minutes. OT comments he likes to swing now, he would wait for his turn when other kids were playing the swing. She now requests him to do some more excercises while swinging, such as holding the head up and so on...
I think SI training is important. My son's attention and response did improved a lot recently, but I did not know it is the result of SI training or other trainings or DHA 70 I feed him every day.. :)
The private ST in central is quite experienced. I went there four times now in sunday morning. Her style is different from the school ST. Always some insteresting toys to attract my son to speak and participate. ST in school is good as well, but my son is more attentive and concentrated while doing private ST training, that is why I keep on going. And she did give me many precious advise to train up my son's weak points. Only thing I do not like too much is she is too punctual every time. Our appointment is at 9:00am, and she normally only arrives the building at sharp 9:00am downstair! (Security does not want us to go upstair to wait for her before she is back). And we still need to bring my son to toliet before the training... However, she will talk to me 5-10 more minutes as next client is coming 15 minutes later. I still hope she can come a little bit ealier to prepare before our appointment. |
