Does any parents know how to improve their child 's concentration in school ?
Any books or by attending lessons ?

喜歡下棋嗎？可以讓孩子去學下棋，可以當興趣來培養，同時學習“靜心”。

Thanks evatsoihk, my boy (now 7 years old) just like to play all time, he play chess at school too.

However his teacher told me, he tends to rush things all the time, he doesn't read quetion and just write down anything comes into his head.

I told him the rules but the problem remain, do you think he's got read/write disorder problem?

I am very concern!!!!

Dont you think his class teacher is the best person to discuss with what to do? Your son sounds like a creative person to me. You said he plays chess at school and I know it needs patience and attention to play chess. If he is doing it ok during the chess time, that means he has no attention problem. U said he doesnt read questions carefully. But overall does he read at all, I mean stories books etc?

Hello Mighty,

Thanks for your points. My boy read story books too but when I ask him to tell me what the story is about, he got muddle-up with the order.
As for his class teacher, who is not much help either because he attend internation school and they don't have home works. She just tell me to do sentence writing with him, actually that was what I had been doing for the last half year.:( :( :(

Dear parent,

My son was getting complain from all the teacher regarding the conceration. They recommand me to see the psychologist. So I did on last week.
The center will check his IQ/EQ and attention problem. And finally they found out he have conceration problem. The Dr.told me to try to give him medicine, there will be some side effect but not to every kid-1) Low their appetize, 2) Headache. If he take the pills, he need to take for the whole primary school life. I am still thinking if I let him to eat or not. Will see his IQ report next week before I have my final conclusion.
The psychologist told me that most of the kids will imrove after taking one week medicine.

ccsworld88, if you are really in doubt, I think the best is to take yr child to see a specialist. You said he cant tell a story in the right order but he is only 7. To me that sounds normal.
Whether the school gives out home work or not, I think as the class teacher sld be able to tell whether your child has attention disorder or not. Try talking to her/him in person see if you can find out more. Good luck and relax!!

My son is 5 and a half. Sometimes he can be really annoying. I decided that I have to do something about this. I play Lego with him. He can make those models for 8 years old but he needs someone to be together with him. After we finished few Star War ships, now I feel that he can settle down more. I don't know if it is just because he is geting older or really few hours's concertration on toys can also help.

Children spend a lot of time at school, and usually classroom teacher would the first person that can identify any learning problems.
At my child's school, parents are usually very informed and supported. The school has their own in-school specialists helping children with special learning needs, in support of professional help or treatments outside the school.
Which school is your child studying at?
I would presume that, since the teacher has not suggested you to go for outside help, then your child does not have serious problems.
