Hi, Tina,
Thanks for your advice. This morning I show the cards to my son, he likes to read and it seems he can remember the words (he talks to himself 'pa pa' , 'ma ma', 'wash hand', etc the words I wrote on the cards) and he does not grasp it from me this time. Hope he likes this game.

I am now reading how to teach baby Encyclopedic knowledge. Do we need to buy a British Encyclopedia at home? How could we search such pictures and make sure that the details of each bit of intelligence are correct.

I glance from your web. The PPT for vehicles - the picture for Van is a minibus of HK type, a Minibus is actually a single-deck bus. How could we assure that the material we make are right? (sorry, this is my own comment on the specific PPT).

Hi Tina,

One more question: if the baby is going to the nursery, shall we /can we keep to practise 3 times a day for showing flash cards?

I heard from my sister-in-law that her son's KG also try to practise Doman's method in their school. But I do not know whether they show to a group of children or individually. If she apply DOman's method at home, will it be duplicated? ANyway, I think if she use a different words or bits of intelligence, it will not duplicated. (my own comments)

圖片的來源 - 網上下載, 建議在google.com找.
資料來源 - 網上資料, 書本, 百科全書等
至於大英百科全書當然好, 但是是錢的問題.

我明白因為圖片難找，ppt的質素會很參差．所以最好下載檔案後家長自行修改.

GD的方法應該由父母教子女，在幼稚園裡，效果會較差. 一來不知道老師是否詳細閱讀有關書籍及明白當中的理念，二來有很多干擾如其他孩子的聲音，環境的吸引，老師不能做到”在孩子還想繼續之前要停止等等”.

最後, 上課後的孩子也是可以做到一日三次的.

大英百科全書已經出了"線上中文版",每年只需台幣999,大約是港幣2xx多吧,而且還有3日試用,我用過很好,價錢亦合理,而且已經買了!

i've a trial class today, they also have flash card. if i will do it at home, do i still need to attend this kind of playgroup? my concern is, since they will test the baby, this is not subjected on the book. .... I'm afraid it's not too good.....

我未試過上這些playgroup, 所以難以評論. 但GD的概念是由愛寶寶的家長每天持續不斷的為寶寶帶來新刺激, 這些playgroup相信未必做到. 但如果未看書的家長想感受一下操作的情況, 試堂也沒有什麼害處. 然而, 測試小朋友對家長的意義大於對小朋友的意義, 是做給家長看的.

近來開始用新方法製作電子書.

我會在圖書館借一些大圖而字數不多的圖畫書, 把內容用數碼相機影了. 然後把圖放在PPT檔案內. 因為書的字太多太小, 我會把故事改成短句子, 再用一頁字一頁圖的方法, 製成電子書檔案.

這樣, 電子書PPT檔的字會夠大, 而格式又可以一頁字一頁圖, 即使歸還書本仍可以與孩子享受閱讀的樂趣, 孩子喜歡的還可印出來放在Clearbook成為真正的自製書, 實在一舉數得.

只可惜因為版權關係, 不能把這種書與大家分享.

www.m-w.com網站只可下載單一聲音檔,如果將數個單字的聲音檔組合成一句句子,中間會斷斷續續,效果並不理想,要整句句子發音,方法如下:
1.到
http://www.research.att.com/projects/tts/demo.html網站
2.在"text"內輸入句子(你可選擇男/女聲,美/英式)
3.選取"Display a link for the audio file"
4.Click "SPEAK"
5.有關句子的wav格式聲音檔連結便會顯示出來,只需copy這個檔案便可

It is a good idea. I plan to buy a printer at home soon.

By the way, I have questions about teaching kid learning to read.  I have tried for 2 months teaching him using word cards according to Doman method. I tried like this:

day1: 1st -5th cards (each time, 3 times a day)
day2: 1st -10th cards ("")
...
day 5: 1st -25th cards
day 6: 6th - 30th cards
day 7: 11th - 35th cards
...

For the last 2 months, I already taught for 180 cards.  If this is right method, I could teach my kid for more than 1000 cards (>1000 words) in 1 year!
Sometimes he makes up some words. How could we correct him and avoid?

And, when do I start teaching him phases, sentences, and using home-made story book.

Since you have taught your kid for >1 year, how many words or word cards you have taught her?

Can I teach my kid the same chinese words and at the same time the same meaning English words (using 2 different word cards), i.e. 1st C, 1st E, 2ndC, 2ndE..  Or I have to finish one set of cards type by type (e.g. Chinese cards first then the English).

Pls advise.
