要成績好﹐有課外活動﹐最好係做D volunteer work 同埋D領袖既位(如head prefect). 另外﹐要考SAT,SAT II同TOEFL。我之前舊制就SAT要起碼1400分以上(1600分滿分)﹐而家就改左制﹐我唔知個equivalent score.

我的小孩現在培正念小三, 在過去的暑假我亦把他們帶去美國上暑期班, 他們應付自如, 我們心想讓他在中三/中四時才回美國上學, 這樣他中文巳有一定的水平. 因中文在未來非常重要.

我想請問, 除了您所講的重點外, 還要注意什麼, 我們想他可以
入UVA or Duke.課外活動有大提琴 / 鋼琴 / 跆拳導
/ 圍棋 / 繪畫 / 游泳, 所有得獎我都保存起來.

您所講的參考信, 是需要什麼人書寫比較有用.

請問你美國的暑期班幾時開始? 我見好多都係6月便開始但香港要差不多7月中先放暑假, 時間好難配合。

在6月開始, 因美國6月巳放假, 他們的暑期課可以星期計. 所以我們只上兩星期亦可.

冇，他們是日常學校一樣，只是暑期班，　不會提提供住宿，Camp=班，

不過"Need Blind"只係比美国籍學生(加拿大都得), InternationalStudent 係冇既(除左幾間最有錢如Harvard ,Yale ); 即係話, 如果申請人冇錢, 就算收左, 都可能冇Financial assistance既。

Harvard同Yale兩、三年前, 已經宣佈提供Financial Assistance比所有International Student; 即係話International Student既入學申請都係<<Need Blind>>.

Princeton我就唔肯定。

Sorry I haven't writing board at home.

Do you know the minimum requirements to get in / get in + get financial assistance from Harvard or Yale or Princeton? More than 8A in HKCEE? How about HKAL or IB diploma? Any other requirements? If get in either one luckily but no financial assistance offered by school, how much should I prepare? Thanks in advance for your kind sharing.

美國學校當然要看SAT成績啦! 不用擔心，沒有HKCEE還有F6之後那個公開試。

My child just entered a top 10 U in US.  His SAT score  was over 2200.  Tuition fee including boarding and expenses will be HK$400,000 per year.  He studied  in an international school since his primary 1 (grade 7).

This year the U accepted 10 students in HK, 2 from Shenzhen and 1 from Guangzhou.  All HK students studied in International School, such as CIS, Li Po Chun United World College, KGV and Island School.  The 2 Shenzhen students also studied in International School.  The one from Guangzhou had studied 3 years high school in USA.

All above students are self-finance.  This year only 1 student  from China got full grant.  But this student is studing the MBA course, not the undergrate.

When you asked for loan or finance assistance in your application, your application will be much less chance.  Except some polictical reasson, all financial assistance will be offered to local USA students, not for international students.

If your chilld gets a good SAT result, some U will offer grant to attract your child to register.  My child got a grand  offered by a Canadian  U.
