Re: Canadian Int'l School Interview Results
Hi ribbon,
If you have read my message posted earlier, you may know that my little one has applied pre-reception class last year as well. She was only 2 yrs and 4 months old when she attended the interview. she cried in the middle of the assessment and the teacher brought her to us straight away. Although she could pass the re-test later (we could attend the re-test 8 months later becoz of our personal reason), it was too late coz all the seats have been taken. according to my experience, if they invite you to re-test, i am afraid that your little one may fail the assessment already as he/she could not finish the whole assessment which was supposed to be nearly an hour. if they offer another chance to you, you'd better let your little one to get used to that strange environment and attend the re-test as soon as possible. in fact, the test is really simple and you may aware that most of the kids attending the interview could speak good english, hence they normally select those kids that could "appear" independent even without the presence of parents. so, "big" boys/girls definitely have advantages on it. my friend's son didnt say a word in the interview but he could still get a seat because he could stay on his own for nearly an hour. i believe most of the kids failed just because they could not finish the assessment not their abilities in english. last year, we got the re-test letter within a week coz we attended the interview in late March. or you may directly call Ms Pong for the results. I have seen quite a lot of children attended the pre-reception class did cry and come out from the classroom. so, better call the school earlier and arrange the re-test.
good luck to you.
regards,
