Hello Dear all!!
May I ask some questions for my K2 girl?
If your girl is now in P1 or P2, can u please give me some comments about their homework now is difficult not?? I am a working mom; All depends on maid to take care of her homework & I just cross check it daily. I want to learn from u guys and plan a better 'transaction schedule' how to let her easier to get use to primary school live ah! When she was 2 yrs old, I already planned how to attract her to go to kindergarten & it worked quite ok; So, this time I wish I can do another successful preparation la....

原來每班的默書範圍是一樣的. 我個女讀 1C 班. 後日都係默 one to ten; 第 9 頁及12 頁的 keywords.

Dear hayamama,

English and 常識 are quite difficult. The first lesson talks about Good morning, good afternoon. The second lesson starts headmaster, headmistress, group leader...... 常識寫 "身體, 軀幹, 眼睛" in the first few lessons.

其實幼稚園和小學真的是兩回事，由其是小學是全日制的。如果幼稚園是活動教學的話，升上傳統小學就更需要多些時間去適應了，還要視乎小朋友的性格。

我女本身唔係讀st rose幼稚園,以前幼稚園返下午半日制(傳統),佢本身係大女(1月出世),所以幾年幼稚園都唔洗點操心,即使兩歲第一日返n1都無喊過o架!!
一升左小學,時間適應開頭較辛苦,一來早左好多起身,二來全日制(連埋搭校車每日返學差唔多9小時),其次係,要習慣自立,因為已經唔會再好似幼稚園咁多嬸嬸照顧周到lu~
其實我覺得我女性格都好自立,但升上小學咁大轉變佢都好辛苦呀!
若以功課嚟講,我覺得要睇你小朋友上堂"專心程度"去到邊囉,好似我個女咁,好明顯睇到佢有興趣o既科目真係唔洗我點理,只係有時粗心大意做錯,但無興趣o既科目就完全唔識咁(英文),英文功課大部份都要pg,課文亦係要我自己教佢讀!過兩日英默要默one-ten加headmaster,headmistress,class teacher,english teacher,classmate,monitor,monitress,group leader!!
我女串左好多日都未識囉!!!!
好似wankwok咁講,真係要睇你小朋友性格o架,如果佢本身性格係好依賴,咁更加需要時間去陪佢適應啊!!

Hi, Hayamama,

Actually, ST. Rose KG will help the girls to adapt the P.1 school life.  In the 2nd term of K3, they will start to write handbook, Chinese & English Dictation.

They will also arrange one day for the girls to go to the P.1  classroom and explain to them that this will be the environment they will study from P.1 onward.

Sicne the school understand that most of the girls will study in St. Rose primary, they will figure out a way to help their students transfer to the primary section.  So, if you really choose St. Rose as the primary school for your girl and she is studying in the KG section, you really don't need to worry much.  However, I heard from one of the parent that the primary section require a lot of readings.  So, you should start to build the interests of your girl in reading all kinds of books.

心心媽,

好奇怪的，到時佢又有可能會記得的。

好似我個女，笫一次默就唔記得這個字，下一次默就唔記得另一個原本識那個字，無一次可以完全對的了。

回想我大女讀一年級時就更加之超級恐怖，用了10個小時都默唔到10個字，每次英默就想死呀!

唉.....我個女一日最多可以叫佢串兩個咋,,,,
d字又長,所以要迫佢拼音去記,,,
但佢反問番我,tor同ter有乜唔同,classmate係一個字,分開當錯,咁點解class teacher分開又得喎,,,,,
我真係嘔左兩公升血嘞,,,,救命呢~~~~~

其實到廿幾號就test嘞,但我發覺英文好多都好似未教咁,o個本an unusual school day係咪未開始教呀??我見佢都未寫手冊話要帶返去,不過又要test到p.11....
拼音都好似要考8個,但好似教左3,4個,,,,,
咁好難預備啊,,因我女要每日溫少少先入腦啊

多口答嘴﹐其實你小朋友問的問題沒錯啊﹐不用嘔左兩公升血啦﹐我仲覺得她頗有LOGICS 添啊﹗

tor, ter, 甚至是tar, 如nectar, 有時根本是沒分別的﹗哈哈哈﹗教拼音個班人很多都不會告訴你﹐因為這樣拼音的賣點就少了很多。。哈哈哈

至於點解會有這麼多分別﹐答案其實都是好好笑的﹐其實英文這語言本來的歷史就好短﹐得數百年而已﹐剛開始的時候﹐英文沒社會地位﹐又常拿了其他語言的生字當成自己的﹐就變成這樣了。
有TAR 做尾的字﹐多數來字古拉丁文(LATIN), 如
NECTAR﹐就是LATIN來的﹐
有TER做尾的字﹐就多數是自己英國的字﹐如teacher
有TOR做尾的字﹐有時是LATIN﹐有時是MIDDLE ENGLISH

其實仲有TEUR﹐如RACONTEUR﹐ 就是來自法文的了﹗
如果你小朋友聽完後又種欲哭無淚的感覺﹐您就安慰她﹐說當她讀好書以後﹐看見其他歐洲文就會覺得易好多勒﹗(只是安慰說話﹐哈哈哈﹗)

至於monitor點記。你就叫她把字圖像化﹐前後都有一個
O 就可以了。

classmate VS class teacher
這個都有一個好好笑的記法﹐老師永遠是大的﹐不用跟人連在一起﹗哈哈哈﹗又是以講笑方式說出來。你叫小朋友看看﹐PIANO TEACHER﹐ CHINESE TEACHER﹐ 全都分開的。

而MATE﹐是同輩﹐放在一起又有什麼所謂呢﹖
classmate, roommate, housemate, etc, 不過記得握﹐不是所有字都可以這樣加的﹐好彩我們沒有hospitalmate!

您小朋友應該IQ幾高﹐如果她每事都要問原因﹐那你真的要耐心一點答她﹐她問您﹐你只要不答她一兩次﹐她就有可能以後都不問您了。我都明白有時這真的好難﹐尤其是孩子問些自己不知道的問題時﹐但這可能代表孩子將來會比我們好呢﹖

我有個9歲的小朋友問我怎樣知道VENUS 跟EARTH 的MASS 差不多﹐我都努力地想辦法去答她。。

妳的解釋好像我們的鋼琴老師教樂理時, 教授專有名詞一樣,有好英文字都源於拉丁文, 不可以下下靠拼音的.

(好似讀神學都要學拉丁文gar!)

Ha, good point wor! I 100% agreed ~ Sometimes teach children must use special & 'childish ideas'; U cant think by the point of a adault & it's work more if u use the 'same brane' of a kid to look & think.
Do u have any more sharing about how to lead children to memorize English spelling in a funny way or easier way?
Thus, I am not a patient parents. Since my girl only K2, she knows not much vocab & all depends on my help. However, I can spend hours to read myself but I cant give 20mins to tell my girl a story...

Do u have any better idea???

老實講,我覺得自己係向住個女o既方向去學習緊,我個女絕對係一個"問題少女",好多時一俾佢反問我,我就要去努力搵答案呢~~~~^.^.....謝謝你幫我解答左之前兩個"難題",咁我可以好好咁解釋番俾個女知道嘞~thx!!!!
另外我覺得你教串生字好有方法呀,所以開多另一個topic,等多d媽咪可以分享到你個方法...你會介意嗎??

今日佢地英文有張phonics的worksheet,我個女好似舊雲咁,因為得d圖無生字,有幾個佢就知係"h",但部份佢根本都唔識,所以唔識做嘞,,,其中一張圖都唔知係乜(heart下面那一幅)
我問左佢幾次,老師有冇讀一次d圖俾佢地聽,佢都話冇,你女女識唔識呀???今日重有同學仔打嚟問阿女添~~~我平時聽個女講o個個同學仔上堂都好留心,但真係唔知點解會就咁就叫佢地做呢張worksheet嘞

今日再問個女,o個本unusual school day都係未開始教~

我都看不出Heart下面幅圖是甚麼，所以都無著色，唔緊要呢!我無問個女，老師有無讀過，只問佢是否外籍老師教，佢話係外籍老師教他們拼音。
至於Unusual School Day，我估計是讓學生自己看書，老師未必會教了。
