poonseelai, have u heard of a book called The Firm by John Grisham? The main character Mitch (Tom Cruise in the movie) is a CPA lawyer.
Even in the private sector, I believe CPA lawyer is also highly treasured by the big corporations. Take an M&A deal as an example. From a company’s perspective, given that there are tons of documents to be reviewed, it is always crucial to have someone represent the company to look thru the details. Remember, devil’s in the details. Although the company usually hires a law firm and an acctg firm to do the stuff, at the end of the day, the company still needs to endorse all the drafts to be exchanged with the other parties. If that company guy, who has a thorough understanding of the company, is good at numbers and at the same time well trained to examine the documents in details with a strong legal sense to avoid malicious tricks and traps, he must be a very valuable asset in the transaction.
