I would like to ask what is the difference? Will the school strengthen the Chinese proficiency? No, it just means because of high-demand from the parents and enrollment, they will now do bilingual stream (50 english / 50 chinese) and eliminate the International stream completely (80 english / 20 chinese).
Usually the internaitonal stream has mainly been for foreigners who may not want their children to be fully immersed in Chinese as they are afraid they can't pick up the language vs. other children who are native speakers.
But what this move tells me is that CDNIS is now attracting a lot more parents/students who want to be immersed in Mandarin, thus pushing CDNIS to keep their operations simple and streamline everything into this 1 single stream. It also makes me wonder the diversity of the classroom (i.e. is there really a true diversity mix? Or will it become another YCIS where majority are MLC students).
