Applicants must demonstrate through interview and assessment that they are capable of engaging with an English medium curriculum. Applicants learning and social skills, together with their ability to cooperate with adults and other children, will be taken into consideration.
At interview, students’ potential for language learning will be explored as well as their ability to engage and succeed within the curriculum being offered at the school.

Esf 現在已經不用70% foreign passport 了 ( info from consultant in top school )
From ESF web site:
"In line with the Education Bureau requirements, at least 70% of the total students enrolled will qualify as ‘non-local’, defined as being holders of an overseas passport."
Are you talking about DC or RC? Which both are esf private School , not classified as international school & need to fulfill at least 70% of students enrolled are "local".
That's Education Bureau requirements for all International School!

According to a student survey done by the EDB in September 2012.

Not trying to challenge you, but at least a few people I knew were in SJS without foreign passports during this period, how could the figure reach 100% really baffled me.

Were those people in SJS in September 2012 and actually did the survey?
If some people just put do ...
SJS 2015/16 annual report : breakdown of nationality: 450 are "Chinese" (guess that include hk though they use the flag of PRC). i.e. about 50%. The others include British (120), Canadian (104), Aussie (66), American (53) etc.
This year, about 40%+ of TY students apply for BHS, i.e. about 70-80, about 1/3 are siblings, say about 25. Of these, at least 5 failed! May be some more I don't know. A much much higher percentage than others. They will have 2nd chance in April. Hope they make it.
