It doesn't matter which curriculum (CIE, IB, American or otherwise) you follow for university studies - anywhere in the world really, including Hong Kong. So I guess you want to know whether your kid's chance for entering into a university in HK will increase or decrease for doing non-HK curriculum. The answer is it depends - if you do non-HK curriculum, you will go to university via Non-Jupas route. You compete against students from other international schools or from overseas. Whether your chance is high or low depends on the number of students queuing up in the Non-Jupas route. Generally speaking, there will be more spots saved for Jupas route (ie students who take DSE) than for Non-Jupas route.At least this is the situation for the time being.
