as far as I know, and according to the information on the HKIA website, graduates from HKU / CUHK Master of Architecture do not enjoy any exemptions of the 8 papers and the profession interview. MArch is a basic educational requirement for the professional assessment.
If you are graduates of overseas universities (given that it is accredited by HKIA), you can take the 8 papers+interview route to become a registered architect.
If your school is NOT accredited by HKIA, you need to pay extra money to ask HKIA to assess your degree and if HKIA approve your degree, you can still follow the 8 papers + interview route and become registered architect in HK.
If you are already a registered architect overseas and have a certain years of practices, you can first consult HKIA and they will discuss if you are qualified enough, if they approve, you can directly take the professional interview and skip the 8 papers to become a registered architect here in HK.
