I guess it'd be quite hard to compare them academically on the primary level. FIS and BHS have different curriculum for their kindergarten/ primary years. Perhaps you should first ask yourself if you'd like your child to do IB programme from PYP, or do IGCSEs and then IB DP.
FIS is a rather small school (meaning small classes) with excellent IGCSEs (and IB DP, depending on the year) result. ESF schools are of larger scale, but with more subject choices, which could be crucial when it comes to the IB DP programme. You mentioned that your child is local. Does s/he speak fluent English already? From my observation, there are more Chinese children with HK parents who speak Cantonese/ non-native English with them at home at ESF schools than in FIS. It seems to me that perhaps ESF schools would have better ESL support than FIS. |
