Yes, ESF schools (and international schools in general) are REALLY dangerous places, rampant with every kind of evil imaginable, drug pushing, child prostitution, organ harvesting, necromancy, witchcraft (say hello to Harry Potter), you name it, they have it, so please DON'T apply to them, leave these God forsaken places to dumb foreigners

Oh but that is not 晦氣.

One outcome of 理性討論 would be for the doubtful to steer clear of these schools, not only do they no longer need to worry about their little angels going astray, but dumb foreigners will also be happy that they won't have to deal with long wait lists {:1_1:}

Having been in this forum for a while, I have noticed one phenomenon. When it comes to discussing the pros and cons of international schools, few people are here to seek advice to help them decide, most have already made up their minds but come to seek confirmation to strengthen their beliefs. I have yet to see one obvious case of someone making up (or changing) one's mind regarding international schools basing on the comments here.

Not only international schools have drug abuse and selling problem, local schools as well. Children in schools with very rich families like 港島南區 are more accessible to drugs. This 2009-10 government document talks about drug testing in HKIS, ESF and DSS schools:

你講果份報告係當年政府想推薦在校園驗毒計劃，作為anti drug的一個有效方法；當年有好多反對聲音，所以最後選了大埔區做pilot scheme, 而這份報告是官員交功課的作品，引用HKIS, ESF, 兩間DSS的例子是想向本地教育界説明校園驗毒的可行和有效性，文件中還引用美國、英國、澳洲的例子；與你用來引證這些學校有濫藥吸毒的情況完全是兩碼子的事。

46人真的為數不小, 即使最後有11人被 "趕" 出校也不是小數目喔

大約三年前聽過社工講學生吸毒問題，無記錯的話港島區以灣仔最多，住屋邨又比私樓多，偏遠屋邨又比市區多，因小朋友生活範圍都在屋邨附近，出市區交通費太貴啦，容易被壞人接觸到。社工仲話吸毒多因悶，無目標，被忽略。亦有band 1好好成績的學生吸冰，三日三夜唔使瞓，日讀夜讀為應付考試，聽到都驚。

我想澄清的是教育局的document, 請不要將SCMP去年的新聞報導混為一談。
年輕人的問題當然要正視，無論本地學校定國際學校、香港定外地，不應妄下斷語。

大埔學校的吸毒問題特別嚴重？請慎言。

當年在大埔推驗毒計劃，是基於大埔區廿多間學校與局方較容易傾妥，又有家校會支持，所以才做。

所以咪度多瞭解求證囉, 樓上夠話灣仔最多, 偏遠屋邨比較多啦, 不用咁緊張呢, 打小幾個字, "無記錯的話" 都曾聽過以大埔最多 (未經證實) 這樣滿意嗎?

明白中國人都愛隱惡而揚善, 但大家在此都係為了自己兒女選校甚或前途找資料, 相信不是來交友或組織 FANS CLUB

There are so many drug problems among the local schools as we read on the papers , too many that many people don't even bother to mention.
However, if there's a single piece of drug news with one international school, it would be magnified as if it happens in all international schools... Pathetic!!

本人buy IS對drug處理手法係唔會避忌, LS多會為面子私了. 去年聽講GXXX 一樣有Drug 問題, 一接向所有家長解釋兼報警解決. 讚.

有關LS 驗毒計劃, 當年一班PK用乜人權/私隱外涉影響學生將來前程阻撓計劃執行, 其實係為保學校聲譽. 有社工表示毒品影響深遠, 即時搵到有問題學生, 即時幫助先最重要. 依班PK唔知有冇仔生?
