thanks for sharing! Oh maybe the comment on St Joseph primary i got was not that accruate. Could y ... my coworker said if he could choose again, he would not chose st. jo again... his son is studying in st. jo sec, academic is very good, but require a lot of assistance from parents...
it is becuz the workload is much exceeding the abilities of the young boys... hence, all boys need their parents to step in heavily.... one of our neighbor's boy is studying in sjps.... very demanding... and some of the arrangement doesn't really make sense at all, like a list of 40+ to fill the books you have read together with your boy. my neighbor just honestly filled in a few, then got a reply from the teacher with remarks saying "incomplete"... my neighbor purposefully filled in all entries, and the teacher made no complaint.... same for the museum visits required by the school.... what i was told is that they just didn't care how you complete the tasks... if other kids could do, why you didn't? that's why parents heavy involvement is quite crucial.... my coworker also mentioned that recalling the days when his kid had exams or tests, they could not fall asleep.
don't get me wrong, both my coworker and neighbor are quite proud of the school... just depends what kind of school life you want your boy and your good self to live.... heavy parents step in may have side effect, like your boy might have been used to get assistance from others hence making your boy much less pro-active... to secure a place in sjc, your boy has to be band one, that is around first 50% of the kids.
yw is a much safer choice...
