The typical offer from HKU is IB 43.
Last year was a special year. There were two classes, 5-year and 6-year program. We could not take the last year's admission figures as an usual offer.

I know one case that HKU made an offer to a girl on condition that she obtained an IB 5 on English only. HKU did not ask for certain score of the IB certificate. In another case,

For students with actual grade 43 are going through second interview now. The cut off of this year can be 43, no more exceptional case.

More than 43 is a very high standard. Is it easier to get in through DSE ?

The more bizzare a thing is, the less mysterious it proves to be.

請教，有無對照表，可以知道IB分數等於DSE 幾多分？因為親戚問即係幾多分，我5G點答？

另外，IVE有個獎學金DSE 25分合資格，IB 31分，都合資格嗎？

YCIS IB Result：

"A total of 15 students have gained 40 points or above. Three YCIS students scored 44 points (out of the maximum of 45 points) showing an all-round ability in various subjects.
The average score for YCIS students is 35.＂

妳在lB only的 Y/N，可能有問題。因為某些國際學校及 ESF 是可以除了選 lB，還可以選其他課程，例如加拿大，法國，ESF diploma等等，只是沒有NSS而已。

我有沒有理解錯？

My colleague's kids are studying at CKY, she heard the results were not very desirable but without any concrete information.

Unofficial information - my colleague said only 14 students in CKY were taking IB this year, with the highest mark 36. Given that 14 students, it might not be a benchmark

ckwliu Some said highest is 37, some said 39, but most said the average is 30. I heard they are checking the papers. They thought marks were deducted because of bad grammar! 發表於 13-7-26 10:00

真係好，你將真相講出黎，我都唔明，點解從來冇人敢講：ESF 間間都好多人讀 BTEC，和 ESF DIPLOMA，根本 IB 生是經過篩選先有得讀。ESF 好少公開講非 IB 生的成績和出路，學校內 (學生家長) 就當然知啦，不過 ESF 家長個個唔會提：小學部唔知，初中未煮到黎好少理，高中時已成定局，成王敗寇。出面好少人知 ESF 有好多學生係讀 BTEC，校內校外都唔會提，只經常提 IB 生成績。好多 ESF 家長，到仔女讀 Y11 都一心覺得仔女讀倒 IB，但係好多到 Y11 時先知原來唔達標，亦唔可以讀 IB。YCIS 做法和 ESF 一樣，都係有篩選，不過 YCIS 就係學校就係一早講明學校會篩選學生，如果唔達標就唔比讀 IB。樓主的資料，應加埋學校內 IB 生的 % 作比較。

Quote from website:

In the file, it says that In 2011-12, there were 64 students in all 5 ESF secondary schools who had completed the BTEC National Awards / Certificates. I think the 2012-13 results will be announced soon.

Don't forget that ESF is an inclusive education organisation with a number of special needs students. BTEC has offered a practical qualification for them for further studies or career development.

冇話 btec 冇存在價值，其實我好欣賞 esf 比學生多個選擇，唔駛局住要讀 ib。但如果出面個個話 dbs spcc 甚至 logo 精英制，只選部份學生讀 ib 造就好成績，咁 esf 都係啦。
我亦冇話 esf 唔公怖 btec 成績，不過唔學得 ib 一樣大鑼大鼓，有點避重就輕。
64 個係 btec 學生，我知有其他學生是 esf certificate，甚至 ib certificate，加加埋埋 non- ib 的 % 唔少
我對實際數目唔感興趣，只係想提出，其實好多 ib 學校都係有篩選，唔係 100% ib。

我的原意只是澄清一些事實，Non-IB只是另一個選擇，例如加拿大學歷申請加拿大大學，可能條隊會容易些。選lB不一定因為容易或者困難，可能只是課程設計較深思熟慮而已。
