Do you girl love reading? Do you believe that reading is really important to learning, in particular it helps kids build a strong foundation in languages and fuel further interests in learning? If yes to both questions, you should consider CKY seriously.
I find that CKY is really good for kids who love reading. Not only does the school emphasize on reading, the "through-train" mode also enables kids to have more time on reading. I notice a lots of schools, be it adopting a traditional approach or IB approach, nowadays encourage reading. However, students who are NOT studying at a "through-train" school have to face the reality of struggling into "band one" group in order to secure a place in an ideal secondary school. As a result, they just suffer from less reading time and are always asked to do lots of exam-oriented exercises. I guess your girl can handle those drilling exercises without any difficulties as being accepted by both SFA & KTS somehow indicates that she should possesses certain talents fitting her in a traditional approach school. However, do we really want to put our kids to study in that learning environment?
To be honest, I have no prejudice against traditional schooling approach. In fact, it proves to be working well, particularly to those capable students. What have been going wrong are probably the schooling system and parents' myopia in education. This is evidenced by the fact that a large number of well-known and popular primary school students (starting from P.3) join different private tutoring classes after 6-7 hours formal schooling every day, Saturdays and even Sundays.
Hope this sharing can help and good luck to your gal.
