HaYi, concur with your assessment.
my fd's kid from a traditional kinder did have some adjustment ... i think for the middle tier , may be SFA is a bit better (if not similar) as TSL . For the top tier TSL for sure will be samilar as SFA, KTS, APS etc, over 15 % to very top schools like LS , DGS, Marymount...
For Chinese level, may be TSL already aware that new p1 kids need to be push in Chinese as most of the kids hv stronger Eng knowledge. So Chinese is not so easy as outsiders' expectation. I aware this after comparing with those traditional girl schools in both HK and kowloon recently.
On the other side, TSL is quite demanding in composition / writing, so the teaching direction is a bit diff fm the traditional schools, and more close to IB's requirement in longer term.
