I think we should be fair to the school. The first day on 15/9, particularly in the morning, was smooth. As experienced, the school had prepared to meet a lot of parents. However, 17/9 and 18/9 were school days and naturally there should be less teacher/staff receving applications comparatively.
For my experience this year, I went out not early enough on Saturday morning 15/9. I took taxi all the way up to DBSPD and was not blocked by guards. I reached the school by 0955 hrs and could not get into the first batch. I just got into the second batch of 1000-1100 hrs. After some time, we were led from the ground floor up to the covered playground to wait and then up to the hall with air conditioning. There were about /more than 20 counters of teachers/staff processing the applications at the hall. All parents were very cooperative and moved up the queues at the hall. There were teachers around to help solving problems. All looked nice.
At first I worried that I have to spend the whole morning say 2-3hrs waiting. Eventually, I left on 1035 hrs and walked down the hill. All took me 40 mins the most. Far satisfactory than expected.
Maybe this year, parents did not go as early as expected. Nevertheless, I was prepared for the worst scenarios that day and brought umbrella, water bottle and more tissue with me in case I have to wait for a long time. |
