合唱團要試音，如小學時有合唱團經驗較優先。不过許多同學加入1 - 2年已縮沙，因為嫌練習太辛苦，比賽和表演前常佔用吃飯時間，只有30分鐘吃飯。所有假期如圣诞节、新年，復活節、summer holiday都要回校練習。唔去耍扣conduct mark。

What do Boys & Girls Schools' scouts do in summer?  They usually have campfire evenings, might be their first opportunity to meet the opposite sex.

請問今年F4是不是只有大約一半同學可唸M1 or M2？他們被分為7組，2组M1？2组M2？經濟科B至F班都开吧？謝謝！

小兒今年F.1, 現正在上English bridging course, 老師對他們說, 來年暑假學校可能會舉辦遊學團去英國及法國, 請問高年班家長, 每年都會有暑假遊學團嗎?

For Year 2012-13, more than half of the students in S4 can study M1 or M2, Class A & B will only take M1, C to D can make choices between core only, plus M1 or M2, and Class F student must take M2.

Economic is X1, must subject, for Class B.  The remaining Classes can have Economic as X3 but only two classes of places, 60 something, were offered.

Students can take Music as X4 but the classes will be conducted after normal school hours.

You may find the following unofficial and unconfirmed info useful, as reference la, for the coming year subject selection.  This year the top 10 boys went to Class F, the lowest ranking boy in Class C was 50 plus and the lowest ranking boy in Class F was 70 plus.

It seems there is English language tour to UK every year.  There are many other tours for the boys to join. The school current policy, I might be wrong, is to sponsor every boy at least one global tour, part of the cost, during their years in school.  My boy had used his quota in joining the Scout Jamboree 2011.

今年和去年都是去英國遊學三个星期學英文，自由參加！

請問是不是三個心儀科目一齊揀？老師說成績叻揀先，我有个同學仔全級考八十几，想揀經濟和M2，是否把經濟放第一志願？但B班只可修M1？老師又說入M1 or M2要看Maths科成织。咁，Ｅ班又是不是只修core maths？

Eliza,
Boy must select the first two electives before other selections. After the first two electives, he can indicate his preference for E3.  The final indicate of preference is Maths, he can indicate the preference of choice by ranking core, m1, m2.

If yr son's friend wishes to take art stream, then 4B could be the first choice but no m2 for Class B.  So he can select science stream classes to have both M2 & Econ in his elective.  Say, Class F with Econ as E3.  Or any E1&2 combination in Class C, D or E (there were 5 combinations) with Econ as E3 and M2 as Maths 1st choice.  As I don't know how many M2 places for C,D & E, the boy must secure a higher ranking to safeguard his choice of M2 and Econ. I guessed the three most popular science E1-3 combinations in last year should be Phy, Chem, Bio ; Phy, Chem, Econ and Chem, Bio, Econ.

Class E student should have chance to take M1 or M2 and it is all depending on the boy's ranking and other students' choices.

I'm interested in SPC and would like to apply for S1 in the coming school year. Your information is very useful to me. Thanks.

May I know what if a student fails in Chinese exams? (Coz my son is weak in Chinese) Will he be told to repeat the grade? Or does the repeating policy depend on the overall ranking of the whole form rather than the positions of the core subjects?

Does SPC provide any support to students for IGCSE or other international exams? Do you know?

Marginal fail in Chinese may not result in grade repeating but one more marginal fail in main subject would be a problem.

You should find out why he is weak in Chinese, reading can help and sharing reading experience together can improve boy's love of Chinese. Then you can find other means to improve the Chinese subject, say more writing exercise or even tutorial.

Usually 3k something in the past, in the Scout Jamboree 2011, there was also sponsorship from the HK Scouts Association.  Adding the sponsorship in kind, such as traveling kit, uniform, shoes, etc, the total sponsorship was around 10k.

Thank you for your reply and let me know more about the sponsorship. I'm afraid my son won't join the scout as he never attend before and he has not much interest about it. I'm still considering any after school activity he could join.
