My daughter is also in DGS and in Form 5 now. Base on my experience and learned from my daughter, I don't think that DGS will kick out a student because she is underformed in sports(even though she was admitted because of her sports achievement). Rather, DGS will ask you to repeat if you really cannot catch up academically. That means if you did OK in academic perfermance, even though you refuse to participate in sports competition, the school will allow. My daughter is the case. So pl don't blind guess.
My advice to those parents who have girls got talent in sports but poor at academic performance is that they should have second thought to send their girls to DGS. Since the girls there are very smart, some of them can got 100 marks in exam but some can got 10 marks. You can see the range. Some of them can never catch up and simply cannot enjoy school there. Learning is basic for a student, not simply enjoy the vanity as a famous school student. |
