無咩書啱睇, 都係其中一個原因, 有時行過書店, 佢竟然睇mr. men & little miss, 我話佢細個睇了幾十次喇, 仲有咩好睇。

佢大咗睇好多中文書, 尤其天文地理常識果d。

我大囝咪睇magic school bus, 叫佢睇horrible science, 佢睇咗一本之後就話好disgusting, 唔肯再睇. 前一排追哂 The diary of Wimpy Kid幾本書之後, 就係度睇啱佢細佬程度既書, 例如Weird school.

我亦試過俾佢睇 Nicholas [url=]by Goscinny, Rene[/url], 佢話好睇, 但之後又話boring, 唔肯繼續睇第二本.

最近佢睇完 "Boy overboard" by Gleitzman, Morris. 話好睇. 呢位作者還寫咗幾本關於toad的書, 我見大囝好似有D意思, 遲D試下借俾佢睇.

Roald Dahl的書, 我估都幾好睇, 昨晚自己睇咗Fantastic Mr. Fox. 打算先試下讀俾佢地聽, 看看是否引起佢地興趣.

There are many useful informations. I've only bookmark this link but haven't copy the book list recommended by him. so bad.

1) Percy Jackson仲有2本: Heroes of Olympus - The Lost Hero & The Demigod Files 又係不容錯過 !

2) Alex Rider series - Anthony Horowitz

我小朋友大部份時間睇中文故事書,我都想佢睇英文書.
我想問下,初時是否要倍住佢一起讀,如果有些生字不識,是否即時查字典呢? 是否先借d簡單明白書比佢睇呢?

Thanks again!!I'll have it a look. He is now reading the lost hero. 自從介紹左e套書比佢之後,佢開心到飛起,日日書不離手.Luckily, it's very thick. I'm headache about what's next,esp. during the long long summer vacation. 我又貪心左d,有冇一d e類小說有正能量,咁就一舉兩得.

How old is your kid?
We seldom choose the book to hard for kids. Seldom look up to the dictionary.

Percy Jackson最近係小兒最愛, 所以對希臘神話/歷史有莫大興趣!

Warrior by Erin Hunter 都好好睇, 而且有幾個series又一路有新書出, 可以有排追!

Eragon series (又係神怪嘢), 有3本, 而且幾厚吓, 可以係暑期慢慢睇.

thanks! warrior--is the series about cats? I read with him a chapter in Chinese translation. He found it interesting but can't continue on his own. Mmmm,maybe I let him read the english one.

About Percy jackson, after reading the first book,佢見我咁好介紹,由認為我係英文文盲改為"識字"分子,我身价都高埋,haha! Don't know that I just learnt from you,hahaha. He also searched Percy Jackson's books and said he must read all! A crazy fans!!hehe!!

有冇一些英文圖書岩比小四學生, 因為我個小朋友(男仔) 佢一向都好唔喜歡睇英文書, 佢見到好多英文字就好怕同無興趣, 有冇一些比較趣味性有圖畫, 唔太深希望可引導佢多看呢.

其實你可以去圖書館借, 最好揀d書集, 多數受歡迎,好睇作者才會寫完一本又一本, 而且如果小朋友真係鍾意, 就會一路追落去. 小童書多數都係趣味性較高, 如: horrid henry, captain underpants, Magic Tree House, A to Z Mysteries, A jigsaw Jones Mystery, the Bailey School Kids.....etc..etc.

Hi, I want to check with parents here that if Muderous Maths and Horrible Geography are as good as Horrible Science and Horrible History series.

My daughter starts reading NG Kids Infopedia and she finds it very interesting, so I think it would be good to stock the Horrible Science and Horrible History at home (and also for myself. coz they seems interesting to me too.) But I would like to get comments for the Geography and Maths series too. please kindly share

呢個網只係free shipment to uk, 所以除非你有朋友係英國幫你收貨, 番開黎香港帶比你, 唔係運費好貴. 我多數係bookdepository訂, 因係free shipment to香港

If you want to buy book set, bookdepository may not be the best choice. I will search amazon and RedHouse coz their book set is cheaper even adding the delivery charge. again, if you want to save money, you need to shop few sites.

By the way, Bookdepository is now offering 10% discount to all order.

100% agree!
Chapter books may attrack kids to read the others in the series after reading bk 1. I highly recommend magic tree house for young kids. It's interesting and educational.

It's no harm to read with your kid together in the beginning. It's also a very good activities for parent and child and the book you are reading will be a good topic for you to discuss too.

If your kid loves to read Chinese books,it's a very good sign. Chinese is much difficult than English. Once your kid has develop a good reading habit of English readers,his/her English with improve rapidly.
