Allocation Bands and Random Number
5. Students are put into an order of merit according to their scaled marks and divided into three allocation bands. In processing the Unrestricted School Choices in Part A, the scaled marks of all students in the territory will be put into an order of merit. Then the students will be equally divided into three Territory Bands, each consisting of 1/3 of the total number of participating primary students in the territory. In processing the Restricted School Choices in Part B, the scaled marks of all students within the same school net will be put into an order of merit. Then the students will be equally divided into three Net Bands, each consisting of 1/3 of the total number of participating primary students in the school net.
Random Number
6. The random number, which is generated by the computer before running the allocation program, is used to determine the order of allocation of students within the same allocation band. If the demand for school places of a certain secondary school exceeds the supply, the student possessing a smaller random number within the same allocation band will be allocated a place first. The random number has no connection with the Student Reference Number or the student's personal data.
以我理解,這裹有3個Territory Bands,及18 School Nets校網的Net Bands,即是共有18x3=54個Net Bands。同一位參與派位的學生,一定會同一時間屬於其中一個Territory Band及屬於其中一個Net Band,根據教育局說明The random number, which is generated by the computer before running the allocation program, is used to determine the order of allocation of students within the same allocation band. 因為電腦必須於開始派位前,為每個學生within the same allocation band編配一個unique random number,所以我認為,同一位參與派位的學生,甲部和乙部的random number 是不同的。(我都明白就算是衹有一個unique random number都巳經足夠給甲部和乙部分出勝負,但政府做嘢講程序嘛!Anyway,如果你能夠同教育局求證我是錯,請更正我。) |
