For some schools their admission should based soely on child's capability.
Bur for some of the famous kinders, I understand they really count also on the parents background - but the child's capability should also be good in terms of interview performance.
1. Reglion has 5 additional marks for going into famous primary - which will show better P1 allocation result for that kinder.
2. Parents with higher income e.g. professionals or famous parents - tend to have abundant of resources in grooming the child - e.g. attending over 10 tutoring on Eng, Maths, Chinese, PTH, speech, debate, music, sports, drama, etc. Then the kid's academic results will for sure be better and they tend to have outstanding performance in extra-curricular activities and got various awards at early age. - These external awards were also marketed by some of the kinders to show their child's high standard. But all these courses are expensive and may not be affordable by everyone. Some already have teacher coming for home tutoring in K1 & K2 and some are taught by famous teachers.
3. Parents coming from famous primary school and secondary schools would tend to be able to get their children into their mother school as well - hence also improving the P1 allocation results of the kinders.
4. One would also expect children coming from good family background will be better trained in terms of politeness, obedience, etc. You know some parents put their child into those etiquette class.
This is the reality and we parents as adults should face the reality.
In the P1 admission forum, I also heard some interview questions asking the child how many maid they have at home and how many countries they have travelled.
When I graduated from school, I also got an interview from a large foreign company asking if you are living in housing estate? |
