1. Try to arrive at SPCC about 15 minutes earlier than the time stipulated in the letter. There may be a chance that your child will be interviewed earlier, as children are invited to go into the interview room shortly after arrival, irrespective of your arrival time.

2. Assuming that the interview lasts for as long as 1.5 hours, the finish time will be 1 pm. 1 hour and 35 minutes should be enough for travelling+lunch (maybe you should bring sandwiches for lunch to avoid having to find a restaurant along the way), but remember to call a taxi immediately when you see your child coming out from the interview room.

Hi thomasha,

Thanks for your advice.  You are really kind and helpful!

Would some active parents here (e.g. KaHeiBaBa, juliaqq, etc) let me have your view on this?  Do you think I can attend both interviews as I am worry about it as I need to manage the time in a very good order... Shall there be very congested in the Aberdeen tunnel at that time?

One more question to ask .... may I know which path should I take from SPCC -- >  DGJS after the interview?

SPCC --> Aberdeen tunnel --> Cross-Harbour tunnel ??

OR

SPCC --> Aberdeen tunnel --> eastern tunnel??

Although I am not one of those "active" parents here you mentioned, I can share my experience with you as a resident on Hong Kong Island all my life - Wanchai and Causeway Bay in particular.

You can assume the Cross Harbour Tunnel is always congested in the day time except before 8 am, so you should take the Eastern Harbour Crossing where traffic jam is unlikely at that hour.

Around 1 pm, the traffic near the exit of Aberdeen Tunnel should be reasonably OK. In case the exit is congested for some reason, ask the taxi driver to take the leftermost lane to "Wanchai" at the exit (down the flyover), pass a few traffic lights and go up the flyover at Canal Road West (堅拿道西). This can avoid the queue heading to the Cross Harbour Tunnel and blocking the way to Eastern Island Corridor.

Hi, I am not an active parent too.  But some advice are:
1. the Aberdeen Tunnel is very conjested after working hours on Sats.  You have to take that into account if the interview is going to take place on Sat.

2. Take the Eastern Cross Harbour Tunnel for sure, it's closer to the present DGJS.

3. Try to arrive SPCCPS at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time.  There is a chance to be interviewed early.

Just want to thank for all you give me advice so that I can relieve my worry.....

If I take the eastern harbour tunnel, then it means that I'd better go straight to the eastern corridor after exit the Aberdeen tunnel.. right? Is there any risk in getting congestion on this corridor (assuming no accidents there at that time) .

你星期幾面試？平日同周六會有唔同。

東廊本身好少塞車，不過香港仔隧道出口往東區方向有時會俾去紅隧o既車龍頂住，所以一出香港仔隧道要留意往東區方向橋面有無塞車，無o既話直去可也，有o既話就即刻靠左落橋往灣仔方向，跟住沿摩利臣山道往堅拿道西，上番橋去北角方向，呢條路塞車機會唔大，最多係要停幾個燈位。

I don't recall they ever asked to see the "receipt". the lady only took my letter of notification and that's all. Not to worry la.

Better play safe because the receipt is stated on the notification letter as one of the required documents.

For my son's case:

2:50pm:  arrived school main entrance
2:53pm:  arrived on 4/F (the waiting area)
2:55pm:  my son went into the classroom
3:40pm: finished

Haha! 30 mins eariler than the schedule time. Maybe they will mark down "too eariler" because the letter said you should arrive only 15 mins eariler than the schedule time.

我係穩陣派，唔係想嚇佢，只係覺得學校講o既野係最可信，打電話去問過自然心安理得；如果學校話無所謂，就可以安樂晒，唔駛如坐針氈咁o係度等人覆。

As we don't live nearby, we usually take a more prudent approach because road traffic can be unpredictable, and some nature calls of the child may need to be handled before going in. Besides, there is nothing around the school to spend the extra time in case we arrive "too early".
