If you agree day-to-day/repeated practice/exercise can achieve success, you should let your kid try. There is also a very good by-product which can train up your kid's patient, responsibilities and confidence.
I agree to this and therefore I let my little girl take all three subjects there (but of course start one by one at different time). I can say at the beginning, it is a very painful (take half year), she is very unwilling to cope with expectation and do exercises. But as time goes by, I see the turning point and eventually overcome. She is now getting used to doing Kumon exercises every day without pushing (at the beginning, she is very reluctant). Her confidence gains a lot as she found she can handle the questions in the exercise in required time limit and even faster in some cases. Also, her patient and concentration improved as she needs to take time count when doing exercises (normally the teacher expects kids to finish 20 pages of exercises in 10-15 mins).
The so called "painful" exercise, of course depends on the kid's age and own character. |
