Hi Choifay and Sorb,
Thanks for your info.
I just called Victoria today to asked the same question. They said they have 2 classes of 26 seats= total of 52 (bilingual and trilingual) for 2010 K1 and there were 100-200 applications. But I remember you said they were showing 1,500 on the board. I wonder why there was such big discrepancy. (not blaming, just curious) I kind of saw the board on the way of out but didn't look at it because the interview was pretty bad and I was a bit upset of their admin error.
Actually, I applied for the trilingual class but they put me in the bilingual class interview. 80% of the interview was conducted in Mandarin which my son had no idea of, felt uncomfortable and I had to interpreted it into English for him. BTW, all other parents in the classroom spoke fluent Mandarin! Due to the unhappy Mandarin session, my son was really hesitant in the English story time but he did well in music. We didn't join the parent discussion session at all. My son was very young in his year so we didn't think we would get in and didn't bother to tell them they have put us in the wrong class.
However by surprise, they accepted us for the international PM class!! And it seems so hard to get in (3:100 or 1:4?) - we wonder if we should consider it. That's why I'd like to hear the parents' opinion why they like Victoria. Is it mainly their language capability? Their pri sch allocation? Or...?? Please share your view.
And what are you results from Victoria?
Thank you! |
