MYGIFTMAMA,
Hope I can help you in answering those questions. My daughter is now in KT Think nursery and i think the curriculum in K1 is more or less the same.
(1) kids in C/E class learns 3 languages, 1 hr English, 15 mins PTH and the rest of the class will be conducted in Cantonese. But in Int'l class, the whole session will be conducted in English, except 15 mins PTH. According to that, I do believe kids in Int'l class has more opportunity to speak, listen and use English. So, the English standard of kids in int'l class will be better than those from C/E class.
(2) Yes, Think is very good in building up kids language. It uses theme-based approach in teaching and lots of acitivities involved. Regarding moral education, it's also good. The teacher will report every details of your kid's behaviour in school. Like my girl, she cried a lot at the beginning of the school, her class teacher called me every day informing me about her performance in class. Unbelievable, right?? the school also toilet trained my girl, taught her how to clean her face and hand etc. the school also trained kids have good discipline like saying hello to people and line up for taking turns etc.
(3) for homework, i am sure not much. i have perviously attended a talk delivered by the principal, she said only simple line drawing for kids in K1. and in fact, the homework assigned is quite interesting, sometimes art work was talken home which patents have to assist. Unlike traditional kinder that only doing copy book.
(4) for P1 allocation, most are applying DSS or private school. I can't recall the detailed result about 2008 P1 allocation even I have read it once in the quarterly newsletter, but i remember that some are going to famous schools.
Hope the above can help u. |
