Hi, I don't have an organised policy 政網 but have many ideas in mind. Some of my thoughts are:
- Engage parent participattion to organise more extra curricular activities without increasing work load of the teachers (they are already overload in my opinion)
- Organise bulk purchase to get a better terms on popular learning materials like books/ebooks, talking machine, playing gyms, etc.
- Group order for popular children park, like Disney, Ocean Park,Wetland, 長隆 circus, etc.
- I understand many students are enrolling in external classes of drawing, Putonghua, English, choir, dancing, drama, etc. We can see if we could borrow school's venue to arrange such interest classes after school hours like 4-5 p.m. on a volutary basis. I think the fee would be lower and it saves the children's travelling time
- Volunteer Team? Like payinng visit to elderly home, selling charity stamps/tickets with parents? It's important to cultivate a value system than academic acheivement nowadays.
- There are no class in Saturday mornings but the school is open. Can parents take turn making something interesting for the children, e.g. making jelly, teaching powerpoint, or just telling stories?
- Develop an online discussion platform, like this perhaps
- Sharing platform? Share books/ toys/ VCD / DVD, flash cards?
Above are too ambitious of course, but we could definitely add some value to the child's schooling after balancing priorities and resources. If I couldn't be elected, hope the committee and consider that.
Cheers,
