don't worry about the temp school site, it's close to our kindergarten. Based on some updates from school a month ago, it should be at the school site of Victoria primary school close to St Paul's Hospital in CWB. In terms of teachers, they are very very nice. You can say that the discipline is more relaxed there. But the key aspects that attract me are:
- happy kindergarten life (both of my kids never cry since first day of school), because they learn through games
- a lot of opportunities for parents to get close to the kids in normal school days. you could come and join their assembly every morning, dancing and singing with them. teachers always welcome you to contact them.
- the teachers are very friendly
- emphasis on music learning
- many parent-child activities
But to be fair, you don't expect something very academic there. Don't expect to write in K1. But you would be given some materials (flash cards) for playing games with your kids for them to recognise the characters/letters. And there are quite some number of "homework" or "project" for you to complete with your kids (basically, your contribution would be much more). They also have a reading scheme, encouraging kids to read aloud to people they know/not know.... I also agree that it's not very suitable for kids to learn writing too early before they could hold a pencil properly.
