最近有兩間公司wxxld family, 同 time lixx 同我sell佢o的套英語教材. 佢地主張比小朋友從小接觸多o的英文, 對佢地第日英文學習會好好多!! 其實我都同意佢地o的points, 仲有佢地d教材的確係幾豐富同吸引!! 但係真係覺得好貴囉~!!!

我當每一件不論cd/vcd/dvd/書仔/公仔... 都係每樣$100計, 都冇佢地開出黎個價咁貴既! 不過佢地就有d售後服務, 又有每月一次既免費playgroup class, 又有咩咩講座等等... 所以我都係考慮階段...

唔知大家又有冇聽過依d產品或者有咩睇法呢??

My son is 2 and 1/2 yrs old and speaks fairly good English. I think I have invested around $20000, excluding the domestic helper for his English learning. What I have bought include these:

1) DWE (Singaporean version) apprx. $1200

2) 2 copies of Magic English (VCD and DVD - cheap cheap Mainland China version) approx. $200 - my son loves it so much that before 1 and 1/2 yrs old, his TV viewing is strictly ME

3) Playgroups (approx. $1900 x 8) = $15200

4) Sesame Street (2) = $120

5) VCDs of different types (Wheels on the Bus, Bob the builder, Cinderella, Pinnocchio, Snow White, etc) = $1000

6) travelling expenses for whatever free English Playgroup we can find in the area = unknown

My point is you don't need to buy the whole set or spend THAT much money on one single item.

我有同事下月去星加坡,我想托佢買dwe,唔知個樣係點,同埋係唔係間間星加坡的書店都係買呢套呢?會唔會好似大陸書城咁,dwe都有好多個版本呢?你有無d網上資料,可以讓我告訴同事幫我購買呢?

I will post it here as to where, how it's like and the name of the bookshop in SIngapore when we find out. My honey asked a collegue to buy it in Singapore a yr ago. That's why we don't know much except the price.

Hi angelachan,

When he was 1 and 10 months old. First to a cheap cheap kindergarten in Tsing YI (I already forgat the name). Next to Kingswood Villas in Tin Shui Wai, Gigamind Kindergarten. The former $1000 month. The latter $1900.

Hi Sara,

The bookshop is 星加坡大眾. No internet source found, sorry. Anyway, it's around HK$1200 to $1500, not Singapore dollars, but Magic English (Mainland China version), I personally think, is more colorful, interactive and attractive.

My son still watches it once every week. We allow him to watch VCDs not more than 1 hour every day. According to eduacationalists, TV does more harm than good when it comes to bb's learning. We buy the idea.

You have missed the toy calculation. What you have bought should include toys. I think you must have lots of toy about learning English.

In fact, we don't. If you count the thomas-the-tank-engine toy set and numerous trains and cars are language learning toys, then they are.

I speak English to my son and my honey Cantonese. So, every toy that requires any description ffrom us is a language toy. We play with words every day too.

It beats me whether the toys were bought for the very purpose of language learning or not.

I wonder why so many mommy wants to buy Disney card reading machine? Just because of the Disney cartoon of what? Recently, i found that there was a reading robot call SPACE BoBo can read single word, sentence as well as whole story book!
not only that, it also have the game & record function!!!
I have bought an English programme call Hurray English 6 hours ago which included that machine! Although it cost $9,800, but it has almost 500 items in a set which include songs, letter cards, picture cards, game board for kids as well as story book!
the education consultant carry 2 luggages to my home and and show me how the reading programme work. So, please don't just aiming at Disney, I know that Time Warner also have similar one cost around $6,000.

The set i bought can pay by 12 month instalment($8xx./Month), but i pay it in one time and he gave me 8% dicount($9016). I think it really worth.

One last thing, at home page, there is also another promotion about card reading machine call "Siu Sun Tung",

All these are just my personal opinion.

Baby is our future ;-)

Hello FamilyMan,

You bought the one same as me. My younger son loves the story book very much. He always said "Where are you going?". When I ask "How's the weather? He will reply "It's sunny". I think your kids is getting the unit 1, "I am so happy", now.
