Re: 請問邊間用Letterland教phonics的centre好??
I read a article in parent magazine couple month ago, it mentioned that there is a Australian Chinese lady teaches letterland phonics at her Mei Foo home. I been visit there once, she only takes 2 - 4 students at one time. I remember some of her students are studing in "York", "ui Ching", "Tak Ngai" and "Delia Int'l school".
Actually, I was there for 1 hour, she uses art and craft. music to introduce letterland characters, and use letterland character as a basic to introduce the phonics concept.
I remember that one of her 5.5 years old students can read a simple sentence and simple books and he has spend 1 year with her.
I did ask her about the progress and phonic system, she said all the phonics system is the same, the letterland is just a child friendly method to introduce the sound for the child, and it doesn't matter which phonics system for a child to learn phonics, such as Jolly and Zoo. And it is mother's choice to find a suitable system for her child. Beisdes, Phonics is a long term course, it will take 2 - 3 years to complete the whole course, and there is no fast track solution. She said there is no way a Hong Kong child can learn the phonics faster than a English speaking kid, and she said it will take at least 2.5 year for a English speaking kid to finish the whole phonics couse, and the English will finish the course by the age of seven.
I think the above can help you. |
