Was you son in Group A? My son's classmate was in other group, he didn't need to draw or write. Some parents suspected that the interview questions for Group A were a bit more difficult than the other group. I wonder if it's true!

You can tell his group no. by referring to the no. of the counter which you and your son had to report to. It can be found on the interview notification letter.

My son told me the details for the interview:

1) Some (哥哥) DBS students take him to a waiting room.  There have many toys, story books and TV.  You can choice which one you like. He takes (骨牌) and 哥哥 teach him how to play, after that he play it with one boy and teacher watch him. I ask him did the teacher hold a book or mark sheet.  He said "Yes". After that, he read some story books and plays the Lego.  He said no morn time to draw.

2) (哥哥) take him to an interview room.  The teacher let him listen a story and ask him some questions about the story.  He said he tries his best but only one question he didn't know the answer.  And then, teacher passes four pictures to him and asks him to tell her the story.  After that, teacher gave him a big picture and asks him to take a look.  A few seconds, take away and ask him to write or draw one to two things which are in the picture.  He told me he draw a (溜冰鞋).  The others, teacher gave him another picture again and ask him to take a look, a few seconds, take away and give him many small cards with pictures.  Ask him to take which things appear in the picture.  At the end, teacher asks him some simple questions and let him go away.

Next time?  Poor kid, you just don't understand...

When I found out that my boy didn't do the "story telling" bit, I reported to my husband and told him that I don't think we can make it.  My husband said we're not hoping that our son can get into Harvard and Yale anyway... that makes me feel just a little bit better but not totally relieved becos this is not the reason I want my boy to get into DBSPD.  I like the school becos of its culture!

As parents, what we can do if we failed in getting our kids into a "top" school/ the "best" school (we think) for P.1?  We will continue to support our kids anyway but really cannot help to feel disappointed.

Sorry that I said this kind of things here... *sigh*

For DBSPD 2nd interview, parent(s) have to attend gar - The principal already confirmed this during the briefing session.
