      Agree with you. My friend is working in a foreign company. He also has the education allowance . His sons are studying in local IS, no need to pay for the school fee. Besides,  he needs to travel a lot for conference. Thus, he uses the points to exchange the free air tickets for his family . For medical. no need to pay for the fee . 兩個小朋友出世，都在名牌
hospitals. In 1998, the economic was worst. Some of my friends always complainted the benefits of the civil servant. However, nowdays they say a little because their situation is getting better and better.
Besides, don't forget it. Some civil servants' job nature is very dangerous. Once they have accidents or bad things happen, their family cannot enjoy such
allowance anymore. Don't blame the civil servants .
I agree with you. the benefits of the private companies are also very good.

I think we are going too far away from what I wanted to discuss here - NOT the entitlement of allowance of civil servant - but the willingness of the civil servant to send their kids to local school which has the system they 'developed'.

其實公務員子女的教育津貼只有$29,000 一年. 是唔夠讀國際學校的. 如讀國際學校, 起碼自己要補貼多2倍.

我老公是公務員. 但我的小兒真的讀唔起國際學校. 只可讀較平的直資學校. 而且並非是免費. 自己要俾3成. 津貼的7成是要交稅的.

我以前都有誤解以為公務員子女可以向政府全claim國際學校學校學費. 仲想去報弘立書院, 英基等等. 後來知道實際情況後, 只報了一些較平的直資小學. 因為真的負擔不起.

其實公務員的福利得好少(好高級的另計),教育補貼已是最好的一項啦!對於d低級的真係什麼福利也沾不上,以前都話有medical福利,今時今日連普通傷風感冒政府都睇唔好,要自費睇私家的,慘

跟本是班高官包括老懵董, 張開眼講大話.當年 梁錦松做教育改革主席時的垃圾作品, 叫你班傻仔去讀本地的學校,仲要用母語, 自己的就去讀國際或出名的名私學,  將來佢地的子女就高人一等, 你地就.......哈!哈!

I have a friend, they rent a house over 30K per month, his children studies at IS school fee over 10K per month. All fees are paied by her company.

For me, I had 4 to 5 month bonus every year. But now, I gave up the job to take care my children.

米係, 做人公道d好!!!!
低級公務員既人工而家重低過1997果時, 成十年前呀!!
而家生活上既必需品樣樣都貴過十年前卦!!!
重要樣樣褔利都減左.......

My uncle was  a govt staff in the  tunnul control dept and he got allowance to live in Happy Valley and now move to canada.  Their benefits are so good and get so much allowance on housing and edu.
