其實各有各好,睇你點計算。你想小朋友學多一種外語的用心是什麼?如果just for fun,我覺得是但一種也可以,因為語言/語文要有對手才有學習意義,多練習和運用是很重要的。如果淨係靠上堂個一頭半個鐘,係好難有成績的。除非家中有人都會用這第三語言,咁又唔同。
我家有2位公主,今個暑假,我也報了日文班給她們,就是希望她們可以互相學習和應對,無咁容易忘記。
如果比我揀,日文第一,因為使用率高,其次係西班牙語,最後係法文....純粹個人意見

Hi good morning. I have a son 6 and I have a girl at 4. Myself learn French when I was young in Switzerland, and most of my classmate at that time was from Spain and Mexico. Therefore beside French, I think I can also understand Spanish (Because I have French bases).

Spanish is an language that is the top which people talk in the world, but not English. If your child can speak one of the latin language (French, Spanish, Italian), they can learn the other more faster.

And also in the business world, beside English, Spanish and French are the most important language.
And of course Manderin is the most up coming language in the near future.(Foreigner also go to Bejin to learn Manderin).

My plan is to let my son to learn Spanish and let my girl to learn French.

看你的目的。

如要出國讀書，請清楚目標學校/ 考試邊種語文會係必修。

個人會選西班牙文，覆蓋面較廣 !

Of cos, Spanish. It is much useful than French. Most of the kids in the States learn Spanish.

Spanish is an language that is the top which people talk in the world, but not English.

But is it because south American countries speak Spanish? For Europe only, is Spanish also more popular than French? I seldom meet people from South America on business, wonder whether French would be more useful, at least French is the official language of Canada and one can read famous brand names.

Anyone got more info about this?

It seems that learning Spanish is very popular now.

Japanese is not as important as before, Japan's economy is not doing well. But because HK is close to Japan, still quite useful in HK, reading instruction labels, watching Japanese TV drama. In overseas countries such as UK, Canada, Australia, not much use.
I feel that Japanese is easier to learn as we already know how to write kanji.
So I would prefer learning French or Spanish as they are quite a different language from Chinese.

I am working in Watch business. When the time I travel and meet people. Both of these language are famous/important, is hard to say which is better then which.

Why I said Spanish is more people to speak in the world. It was because I read an articles in a newspaper before and they did a reserch on this topic.

I shared with your views. Learning Japanese is not so much useful for a lady (foreigner) who wants to work in Japanese company and climb up to the top. In Japan, it is man's world.
