for 2013 K1 offer, I think that it may have early class in Feb 2013 ( to be confirmed ). My freind told me that this is pre-k1 offer in 2010 feb for his son. This arragement is similar to this.

cyeung72： can u give more elaboration？ how old was your friend's son when he took pre-K1 class？ how many years did he take for K1？ is it 1.5 years？ did he take any PN class？

My baby was born in May and on PN waiting list but got a k1 offer.

my friend son was 3 year old in feb 2010, normal K1 was sep 2010. York offered a pre k1 study about half year before normal school time. But, it  was still k1 school fee and practice.
Similarly, my girl will be 2 yr 8 month in feb 2013. This may be similar sitiuation.

How's about PN class？ Any PN class before pre-K？

Is pre-k same as PN then?
And for the head starter class, Is it started in Feb or as usual Sept each year? I get mixed up!

I think they got lots of k class places and so they can allow those big b to enter in Feb who are already 3 years old! But I don't think they have PN places left and so chances for early admission in Feb for PN is slim! And that's why they can give so many K1 offer out even parents are applying for PN!

For those receiving PN waiting letter, do you also receive Playgroup application form in the same letter?  If yes, did it mention on PG form that your kid is being accepted by York?

有，我張pg form都係咁寫，如果waiting而佢又比k1 offer,咁佢張form既字眼同封waiting 信冇衝突，小朋友真係being accepted for k1
我反而覺得佢封waiting信 話top 10% candidates 有d怪，個個都係top 10%咁其余既90%係邊個？同埋佢咁泒k1 offer法，起碼泒左千幾二千個k1 offer 出去,除非acceptance rate 超低，如果吾係就算有四五百個位都食吾哂啦！舊年係咪咁

我個仔同我個朋友個仔都係排waiting list + offer AM K1 ... PN都未諗掂就要諗緊讀唔讀佢個K1.. 真係唔知點攪好...^ ^

From my observation in the forum, I believe they just issue "standard" letter with same wording i.e. those big b would be "special case" letter while those mid b is waiting + K1 offer (top 10% candidates)!  So I won't take it serious for what they've mentioned in the letter law!
Don't know why they have so many places for K class!  But just have a look on the Education Bureau website, they have 1433 nos. of students in total for kindergarten classess which in average around 470 students for K1, K2 & K3 each. But there are only 150 students for PN!  So they need to recruit 320 new students outside!

But according to their letter, there r 3000 application received. How can that offer place to all the applicant? Really don't understand!

Thank you winnietingting! 打了去問，但個姐姐都係答到時校長會在當天解釋，家長要出席了briefing先。其他家長，可以打去問下，可能有其他答案！

Thanks 88egg! But did they mention if both parents can attend the briefing and is it a group briefing?
