星期四,五要返工, 我應該星期六才去交留位費.

我差不多截止報名前一天才交application form, 個application no. 180左右,  我估總共收表大約200份, 減去當日no show, 所以競爭應該唔係太激烈. 我估學校亦有可能取錄學生多過可以收生的名額, 因為總會有部份被取錄的會放棄學位, 或交左留位費但最終轉鈦.

I don't think they accept everyone, cos my friend has still not receive the acceptance letter. She called the school today and was informed that her son is on the waiting list.

我應該星期四 or 五去交留位費.
i live far far away... in an outlying island. and we might plan to move out, not sure which district,cos it depends on which school my kid will go. I'd like to chat to you and other parents, but i'm quite busy this week. perhaps next week? pls pm me.

Can anyone share more about the school?--the teachers, homework, exam, activities...etc.

you know what, i was thinking to live in yr way while you are thinking to live in 'our' way. i went to cheung  chau last week to find school and place to live because my family has a sudden financial problem. however, i found that cheung chau's market was not cheap and the flat is small (450ft). i am still thinking to move in. for lantau island leh, the vessel fee is too expensive lor. i'll go there on thur morning, shall we meet and eat together leh. i'll pm my tel no to you and siu wan again. the chance for our sons to be in same class is 1/2 wor, we will be relatives wor.

to kat: thanks for yr info. please tell yr friend not to give up and keep writing letter to the father. i also did that when i applied.

today i chat with a st paul's teacher, he kept on discouraging me to let my son go to st lo,he said being a teacher himself, never try the new sys, our sons will be just a guinea pig,better find one with well accomplishment already. i told him whole day,all english...i am so impressed etc, he said no no no,still has a long way to go, you cannot see any supporting yet, finally he asked me to try victoria but i really don't like this one. anyway, i love st lo, how about you?

Just want know the teacher is St Paul's boys or St Paul Co-ed. If St Paul's Boys, did he tell anything about his school?. I have interested on it.  Thanks a lot.

So, can the"st paul's teacher" help your son to get into st. paul ???
If YES, I'll choose st paul. If NO, then I'll choose St Louis instead of Victoria. I think my son will really be a guinea pig if he goes to Victoria because Victoria has no pass record of secondary school. Therfoe it seems risky. Besides I think this school is too commercialise (like a company/shop, very good marketing) and the fee is higher.

我也覺得victoria太commercial, 所以也不會考慮.

St. Paul College應該也是一所好學校, 不過我有個幾疏既親戚有個仔, 早幾年未轉直資時被派去讀中學, 本來小學成績幾好, 但因為唔係最"標青"的一批, 沒有被編入精英班, 老師就不會放太多心機去照顧落後的學生, 所以個小朋友變得唔鍾意讀書, 成績繼續時常不合格.

有無St Louis家長可以分享下你對學校的睇法?

dear siu wan,
i feel guilty in thinking the negative side of st lo, it should be a compliment to me for accepting my son. anyway, my husband's teacher friend always tends to prefer the international sys, maybe that's why he recommends me to choose vic coz it has a path to that stream. i'll keep you inform when i can locate my little st lo friend's mami for info.

dear carl ma,
i am always at home wor, never mind lah, i still had not yet met my neighbour, mami of st lo, i will keep an eye, don't know why the st lo boy is not playing downstairs now, is it test week? however, one of my friend told me that her son was rejected by st lo, even she brought along a recommendation ltr from a 'big' people, and now her son is in tang keng poi, so i was wrong before, this school is not accepting all.

i've got a friend who has 2 sons - one at st lo P3 and one in K3 now accepted by st. lo. I might talk

One of my neighbours is a P2 student of St Louis.

btw, he gives me an impression that he is quite "worse" in English and tend to just memorise the word without knowing the meanings and application.

But I do not know whether he is just an exceptional case!!

本人乃90年畢業的舊生，也想說上兩句。
我和我的同學大都對聖記非常有歸熟感，及非常慶幸曾有機會身為聖類斯的學生。(我們那屆同學的網站 www.sls90.org)
說句實話，聖類斯的並不是以成積好而出名(但在我那屆也有MIT,牛津的畢業生)。我想聖類斯最出名的還是校風，我敢打賭到今天為止還是最liberal自由的中學。不說別的有多小學校，能容許學生穿波鞋上學? 有多小學校對學會己行類似大學的ICA制，讓學會自立?我想從舊生及老師的歸熟禁(佷多老師師也是從前的舊生、佷多老師在聖類斯教了三十多年書)，不難看到學校的質素。
說回舊生我們還有，鄭中基(89年中5)、黃秋生、蔡德才、李誠、駱亨祥神父等......

但此校宜家啲會考成績真係唔得喎，得七成學生會考合格。

Hi Carltonmama

I would like to know more about the student studying P1 in 2005 because the teacher is using English to teach all subjects. How's your friend comment? Are the students in P1 get used to the English speaking environment ?
