My son may be your son's classmate then!  But I heard that 90% of St. Jo's kinder will go directly to St. Jo Primary School.

That means although there are 8 classes for P.1, 3 classes had already assigned to those St. Jo K3 students.  It seems that we are lucky to get a place for our sons!

What I am worrying now is whether I can help my son finish all his homeworks every evening as I am a working mother.

Before this discussion goes off the rail, there is no relationship between St Joseph's in Wanchai and St. Joseph's in Kowloon.  St. Joseph's in Wanchai is part of the de La Salle Brothers.  Associated (though not one-dragon) secondary is St. Joseph's College on Kennedy Road.

Read too many threads where people talk at cross purposes: one talked about St. Joseph's Wanchai and someone else talked about St. Joseph's Kwun Tong; one talked about St Paul's Co-ed and the other asked whether it was the same as St. Paul's Convent.

I heard from my friends who is one of St. Jo's kinder parent, only 2 or 3 pupils per class from St. Jo's kinder will go directly to St. Jo Primary.  But we are quite lucky to get a place!

I am a working mother too.  Don't worry be happy, everthing can have a way to solve.

Please share your experience in the choosing process since my son will be in P1 in 2007 and I would like to know if I can easily get into St Joseph in the 1st round with 20 marks.  Thanks.

第一輪入唔到，第二輪大抽獎甲部只填st joseph一間, 乙部亦是第一選st joseph，之後再選其他。因為怕入不到，叩門都有誠意d。

I got a place in the 1st round with 20 marks.  In fact, I belong to net 11.

Since there is no Catholic school that I like in net 11, I switched to net 12 where I think not far from my home.

I was struggling between Wah Yan and St. Jo at the very beginning.  But later I made up my mind to choose St. Jo instead of Wah Yan because my son loves English more than Chinese.

As I was told by my friend whose son is in Wah Yan P.4 now, students have to learn 文言文 which I believe my son may not like.

Meanwhile, there are 8 classes in St. Jo for each grade that made me believe it's easier to get a seat in St. Jo.

But I don't know whether it's a good choice to pick St. Jo or not since I have heard that teachers teach nothing in the class and mothers are the one to teach their sons.

Hi, rachelmama and pswci, have you guys heard about this?  Any comments?

St. Jo Primary 並不是一條龍上中學的,要考全級80名內才可穩上St. Jo College,如果考100至150名,仍是band1生,可在統一派位時選回自己的中學,但要看運氣了!
所以St. Jo Primary 競爭非常大,此校亦很注重學生的成績和品行.家長和小朋友都有一定壓力.

I only had 15 marks and I was successful in 1st round.

I have some friends who chose St. Joseph as 1st choice.  They are all successful.  It is not really difficult.

It seems that you and your friends are so lucky to get a seat during the 1st round with only 15 marks.  My son also had 15 marks but failed.

However I will be lucky too that there won't be any difficulty for my 2nd son to get a seat in this school 3 years later, for he needs no mark at all!

I got a letter from St. Jo today.  The orientation for P.1 will be on 7 July.  Our kids are required to come to meet their class-teachers.

Hope to know more about the school on that day!
