You can start reading English story books with your kid. I think this is the best way for him/her to learn English. My kid is 2.5 years old and she loves to read story books. You can try Oxford Reading Trees. You can start with Stage 1 to 3. Now my kid is reading stage 5.
We usually read together. I bought around 40+ books and she randomly chooses to read and repeats again and again for many times. Now, she can read aloud for some books (of course sometimes missing one word or two). I am not sure if she memorized the books or she can actually read the words though.
There is one series (I forgot the name, something like "Kipper and Chip Series". Each page in the book has some hidden items (eg. a lady bug) and asks the children to find them out. My kid is very interested. Also, at the end of the book there is a maze and she likes to play that too.
Shevachevy, one suggestion. Try to be more interactive with her. For example, if she likes the pictures, you point at the picture and tell her "this is hermit crab" and next time, you ask her what that is, and see if she can say it out. Try a few times and it will work.
