課程係點、教學方式有分別就自己研究一下

到做多幾年野，老細都不會太理邊間出。反而，邊個勤力、不斤斤計較、考member/fellow 快、肯出paper等因素會更重要。

當然，入港大的，family background 如父母是HKU med alumni 等機會又大D、有其他關係嘅又可能大D。

Generally, IB (or IS) students that got offers from both HKU and CU, would choose CU in the end.

Most of them I do not know personally so I would not know why. But according to my kids, most that got double offers eventually chose CU. I was only able to really speak to 2 of them. Both have spent time with both schools (e.g. summer program, attachment etc). Basically they like the campus, faculty and staff more at CU. One of them did say that PBL at HKU is "quite like IB" though but he still chose CUHK. I think IB and local curriculum raise students very differently. I think the background of students would nurture them into very different types of young people.
Apparently most local school students still prefer HKU in general (not only med students).

According to my son and other parents' experience - Mutual Respect is the common reason to differentiate two medical schools. Just the interview, they can feel and observe the difference.

Yes, most local parents favour HKU > CUHK, me too. But, I let him make the shot, he loves CUHK > HKUST >HKU, so follow his heart, even I explain the biased toward HKU in our society and the possible consequence of the choice.

I was educated in the US and I think CU has always been like a typical US university (in terms of the curriculum design). I am very open minded so I have always let my kids choose their universities.
You have raised a good point: the society still somehow rank HKU highest. And most people would rather simply follow that.
I think IB want students to have their own opinion and stand up for what they believe. So IB students may thus be "more adventurous" and would go out to choose a path very different from what most locals would believe in.

Your last paragraph highlighted some attributes of typical international IB students, but not for all local IB students and parents, they may focus more on Scores, elite programs and NJ quota.

Sure. Everyone has a different background. So as long as a person is happy of what he choose.

Both are good medical schools and train good doctors. Ask your son what type of teaching style he prefers, PBL or system based. Only your son know the answer.
