My son was put on a waitling list. He doesn't belong to either priority group 1 or 2. Too bad.

Seems like ESF Y1 this year is very much over subscribed. So I am thinking since they are asking you to bring your passport, they will like to check your nationality (not only your kid), and make sure you are native English speaker (since they will meet you), so you are Cat 1 as you declared...... just my guess though

My husband is local while I am holding Australian passport , and my child only speaks English, but I'm still on waiting list ....:(

I have looked at our website like Geokids and seem even a lot of "Cat 1" students are on waiting list.... good luck to all!

KJS also put my daughter to waiting list, do you think all the waiting list can get a chance for interview after they finished interview for Cat#1 ??

How's about the situation last year? Any idea? When will be the next round for interview? My son is also on the waiting list but he is not studying in ESF kindergarten, so we think it's "normal".

You may try to call KJS and ask how high she is in the waiting list....

Thank you my dear...my boy is now K1 at TY. I am just a bit worried about the "waitlist" issue since the birth rate is definitely higher in 2005. The same thing could very well happen again next year when it is our turn to apply for KJS.

Keep us updated on this issue because this is very valuable information for all parents with kids in the ESF system.

Of course, I wish you guys all the best hope everyone eventually gets what they want in the end...

will do. But I urge you all to apply several Y1 school instead of putting all eggs in 1 basket la!
