小女今年讀K2，出年想幫佢想入國際學校讀YEAR 1，唔知有無媽咪可以俾一些有關Renaissance College 啟新書院經驗分享。

我想問呢間學校好唔好，同埋將來中學畢業後能否考本地大學?

I saw a post a while ago saying that students in ESF got admitted in Oxford, Cambridge, HKU, CUHK, etc. Since all ESF (including RC) are now using IB so this will be the same for a while.

But when your kid is in Year 13, somehow it may be up to them whether they want to stay in HK to continue their study, or want to leave. Most students in IS like to leave HK as they hate the HK Education System, but who knows what happen to the Universities in HK after 13 years.....

If you are going to apply for K1 in 2009-10, I think you should have already send the form, right?  Have you attended the interview yet?

I have a friend's daughter studying P3 there and seems very happy, with strong reading ability, good discipline and enjoying lots of activities after school in the campus.

But when your kid is in Year 13, somehow it may be up to them whether they want to stay in HK to continue their study, or want to leave. Most students in IS like to leave HK as they hate the HK Education System, but who knows what happen to the Universities in HK after 13 years.....

University education is not like secondary or primary education. Whether students want to stay in Hong Kong for tertiary edcation, probably, has nothing to do with whether they like the local education system.

It is true though that most students in IS would not stay in HK for university. I think most of the reasons would be because of the background of the students.

There are many other reasons for HK student not chosing HK U's. One of the major reason is local U's get very limited sponsorship from private sector for application research and it limit the student to continue their career after graduation. Another reason may due to local U's culture are much more selfish than oversea one and it hinder their student development in whole.
