邊有人咁得閒去數，(我個女同時返IS同Local個陣我都無心去數)，仲有，數倒多d/少d咁又點?

I think schools not following the local curriculum do not have to bound by the suggested number of school days.

My children's school (RCHK) did show the number of school days in one of the calendar last year. Seems that it is not shown this year.
As far as I remember, the number of school days we had was similar to that of local schools. And I think we probably the same school calendar as other ESF schools.

We do not have more holidays. We have longer Christmas, Easter, and Summer holidays. But we have shorter Chinese New Year holiday.
And all school days are teaching school days. We do not have the "short days" or "play days" like some local schools after examination weeks.

When I compare the number of school days of the local kindergarten (last school year) and the IS kindergarten (this school year) of my child, the number of school day in the IS kindergarten is 17 days less than the local one. Hope it helps.

In ESF Shatin Junion School, the number of schools is written 190 days, with actual school days 185 days only because 5 days were chosen as days for teachers' training etc.  Students need not go to school for those 5 days.

So Clumutter, just out of interest, can you tell us how many are there in local primary schools?

我覺得本地學校根本問題唔在於行乜curriculum，而係家長要學生成績好，學校又恐防被殺，不斷催谷學生(當今氣候，我相信唔少學校管理層絕對樂於見到學生們自費到星級補習社補習，君不見今時今日好多本地中學掛條Banner出o黎自吹自擂，幾多人入U，幾多%中英數攞A攞C...，升呢升Band，自封地區名校?)
家長心態亦冇變(唔信過隔離"談幼稚園"睇o下，最多人關心係邊功課夠唔夠多夠深...學術成績入唔入到名小學，理得你咩活動教學，有冇愛心。)
咁o既本沒倒置生態下(求學不只是求分數，而是公開考試攞好成績)，改乜改物(334定442，IB定IC)結果都係一樣。
IB唔係仙丹。我相信政府學校行IB結果一樣...只係出便會多o左好多IB補習社...
