is it better to send with a "profile" of my kid?
Don't bother sending a portfolio or anything. ESF goes strictly by Cat 1 then Cat 2 and according to their priorities (as listed on the website) until all places are filled. When they cannot decide on which child to offer the play visit, they use the computer generated number as they receive the applications to decide. It's like a lottery.
Basicly, they feel 3 year olds are 3 year olds, there's really nothing they are looking for initially. Then they will offer a play visit, when they determine whether the child is NOT appropriate for an english-based curriculum.
In other words, if the school offers you a play visit, you are pretty sure that you have either secured a place or on the top of the waiting list. There's no "interview" like local schools. |
