從英國新聞及朋友中聽Manchester市中心的crime rate頗高. 亦聽過會針對華人事件、knife stabbing等等。請問有Manchester U 家長及子女就讀的意見分享🙏
另外，如果申請大學第一年住宿，可否分享大學內campus還是租大學認可出面宿舍的pro and con?

假如揀大學宿舍, 有邊間en-suite 好啲？

而家在英國讀書，但中學在county所以同Manchester 大城市的crime rate好唔同。

Manchester既crime rate高，其實有兩個方面，毒品相關既同偷竊破壞；同香港既灣仔一樣，主要原因就係人多手雜。不過我唔覺得Manchester同灣仔唔安全。

揀大學宿舍，揀en-suite有好有壞。壞處係少咗認識其他人既機會。
至於華人間既所謂針對華人事件，我反而唔覺，我估計係老一輩華人既信息來源問題，cognitive tunneling效應影響，只睇到狹窄既社交圈子內發生既事，然後無限放大同傳播。

My son said he avoids Fallowfield halls because they are party venues .  If you need catered hall, there are indeed less choices esp en-suite.  During the first year, many students choose U halls because they will meet more students.  Most students will opt for private accommodation starting from 2nd year.

En suite 會較好，shared toilets 就比較危機。我知有學生住了幾個月就搬出

有得揀一定係ensuite..無左衛生問題...唔少大學宿舍係男女同宿...雖然分左男女浴室...但係實際無跟咁足，好多男同學照去女浴室...因為男浴室太污糟.
咁認識朋友方面，如果仔女好宅，係可以住足3年宿舍都識唔到人。睇仔女性格啦，好多課外活動都可以認識朋友

我讀書年代，無見過男同學去女浴室，反而女同學同男朋友一齊去男浴室就見過，不過大家都識做，當睇唔到。唔知道現在有無唔同。

In some of the very old halls, toilets and bathrooms are shared by all students (male and female) on the same floor.

對呀，我大女讀master 個時，一個浴室 一個廁所(格局好似家裡的浴室咁款)...十幾人,有男有女 share...佢住的宿舍係由古老建築改裝

其實我覺得唔係問題，我小朋友同兩個鬼仔同兩個鬼妹五個人喺出面租屋住，都係需要share廚房廁所。
