What kind of Math???

Dear ALL,

My son took Kumon for more then 2 years from 4.5 till 6.5 years old. He did so far so good, just doing like a robot.
Now he was in P1, and the school was in English Math (in sentance format). Since Kumon don't have that kind of training. Therefore he did very poor on math subject.
Can anyone give me an advice. Should I stop Kumon and try something else????? Try what????

P.S: I will let him do some exercices at home, but anything else he can learn from outside?

Maybe you should explain the questions and the key words to him, it's easier once he uses to the format.  Understanding is more important than rote memorized.

My kid has the same problem as you do.

I find a very fatal problem: the kid is only memorise but not really understand the figure.

Actually, the teacher do not teach the kid even though your kid go to their Kumon school once a week. The kids can actually not going there but just take some homework & do it at home.

Knowing that learning path, some friends just told me that it's crazy to pay them & let them kill outr kid's learning time.

I'm thinking to quit Kumon also.

I think Kuxxx is only suitable for kindergarten and lower primary.

I will go to stop Kumon in this month. And I am now trying to hire an English Math teacher for my kid. Hope I can solve the problem soon.......
