just a bit of sharing. hope it helps.
our girl is a current student of ssgk. one of the greatest strength of the school lies on the very close relationship between the staff of the school with each and every student and their families. By staff, we do not only mean the teachers, but literally each and every one of them, from the principal, to the "je je". They all know each of the kids well, and understand their strength, weaknesses and character. The individual care and attention given to the student is hard to find elsewhere. this may be an edge that a large kinder can hardly compare. Its effect on a kid's development is very obvious as the school is capable of giving tailor-made advice and guidance to the student according to their individual need and character. in a way, it is not operated in "factory-mode".
that said, it cannot be denied that in terms of academics, it is not strong (this may present a problem to some parents), but it afterall depends on what you want. if you value moral education, character shaping or religious enlightenment, you should give the school serious consideration. the care and attention given to each kid is just rather unique and not easily found elsewhere. I trust those who have attended their interview will feel this. frankly, how many schools are willing to spare a month to conduct the interview, and how many principal will be willing meet each and every student and parents in order to understand them better. in recent years, interviews in most schools are concluded within a few minutes (the worst one i experienced was that i stayed in the interview room for less than 3 mins). Here, when the principal asks a question during interview, she does want to know your answers.
so afterall it really depends on what you want for your kids at this stage of KG. just speaking for myself, i am grateful that my girl gets the chance to be here.
