Stanford University awards advanced placement credit for certain [IB Diploma] Higher Level examinations with scores of 5, 6, or 7. Credit is awarded at the discretion of individual academic departments through the Office of the University Registrar.

The standard of IB Diploma is comparable to the A.L. It should be higher than the future Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination. Many 4-year universities give credit exemption to IBD holder with good results.

IBO requires lots of resources (money) and will not be the main stream at least in the coming twenty years in HK.

HK Government subsidies (around):
S4-S5, $24K or $27K (school age > 16 years)
S6-S7, $42K or $48K

if adding $40000 school fee
S5 - $64K or $67K
S6 - $82K or $88K

It may be enough to run an IB Diploma course.

IB qualified teachers need to be trained by IBO.

IB have three stages
PYH for primary
MYP for junior secondary
IBD for senior secondary

Creative provides MYP and will provide IBD
Logos will provide IBD only
(current Logos secondary students will join HK exams)
(current primary stduents will join HK exams and/or IBD)
Not many international schools in HK provide IB courses. Don't treat IS and IB as equivalent although it's true that most of the current IB courses are provided by IS in HK.

I remember that Logos had mentioned the couse fee for the Mastey Stage is around $36K (but I could not find the info now). Normally IB Diploma takes two years to complete. But Logos designed to take 3 years and now change to 4 years. If charge $36K for 4 years (school can divide the among into 20K for the first two years, 52K for the final two years), together with the government's subsidies, it should be enough.

Wanton noodles certified by IBO will properly cost more than $16. $10 then is not enough to buy a bowl of IBO certified Wanton noodles.

The cooks need to be sent overseas for training. The restaurant needs to recruit an IBO coordinator and to pay money to IBO. It can't be overcrowded.

I don't know the arrangement of Logos. But I guess the students can have three choices depending on their abilities and needs:
- IBO and HKDSE
- IBO only
- HKDSE only

HKU:There are no fixed quotas for non-JUPAS applicants, the number of students that are admitted being a function of the number and quality of students applying each year from both the JUPAS and non-JUPAS schemes.  

CUHK:There is no fixed quota for non-JUPAS applicants. In the 2005 exercise, around 120 first-year students were admitted through the Non-JUPAS (Local) Scheme.

I will properly apply Creative Secondary for my kid few years later. (Creative is the type of school I like, but together with school bus fee, Creative Primary is too expensive for me).
