have any parents applied for KCIS kindergarten? and i am wondering what kind of confirmation you will receive after submitting the application?

as for me, together with the receipt for $500 application fee, there is a letter saying that my bb's name is on the waiting list for the 2013 K class. it appears a bit strange to me, since i thought what we call "waiting list" is something happening after interview. so i just wish to check if everybody is like that.

From what I understand, application to KCIS works on first come first serve basis, so they will only call the applicant for interview when it is their turn in the queue.  Anyone pls correct me if I got it wrong.  How old is your child now?  I heard the queue is super long and some parents applied when their babies were only few months old!

all applicants are placed on KCIS' waiting list based on the order of receipt.  You can call the school's admissions department, there is a lady named Anita and she can tell you the wait list number of your child's application.  KCIS does interview on rolling basis so they will continue to call those on the waiting list as long as there is still space.  Once all spaces are filled, they stop doing interviews.
