請問中一暑假銜接課程需時多久？一星期或一星期？
暑假期間是否有很多到外國留學團或觀摩團？費用會否很貴？很多同學參加？

暑假同復活假有好多遊學團, 舊年有去德國及捷克, 有去英國學英文, 有去上海學中國文化, 亦有去南菲以及澳洲, 部份團有半費資助. 去澳洲10天大概$7000.

Hi Paupauyu,

I've just come back from vacation and just saw your post.

Here is my son's F.1 homework for Chinese New Year holiday:

1. Chinese
- 95 sentences (You need to find out the wrong words and replaced with corrected ones.  It is not easy !)
- 4 comprehension passages (Chinese old language)
2. Maths - 45 pages (Over two hundred questions)
3. English - Newspaper cutting,

Plus homework for  I.T. etc.

Since we went aboard for CNY, my son was really exhausted with so many homework, as he only had two full days to do all these.  Anyway, it was over and he could manage all.

When compared with my daugther in other DSS school, my son really has a lot of homework for holiday, especially Maths and Chinese.

But for the regular days, it is O.K. and I find my son spend approx one or two hours to finish his homework.

Quiz - almost quiz or test every week.

請問聖保羅書院會考成績如何？

Dear Paupauyu,

There are two big tests + 2 exams in a year.  Tests results are also counted in the 成績表，approx 20 - 25%.  Each subject is ranked in the whole form and shown on the report card, even you are the bottom one of the form, it shows.  My daughter from other DSS school only show the top 2/3 of the whole form, but the bottom 1/3 will not show, it protects the kid's self esteem.  St. Pauls has its tradition, so can't help !  The bottom 10 will be 留班。

Hi namanyi,

I've heard the best one from last year was 6A.  It is not as top as QC which has 10A, but generally they are not bad.  The coming HKCEE is the first one after St. Paul is switched to DSS, I think the result may drop a little bit, but gradually they will pick up as more and more parents have confidence in DSS school.

1) 正面 - 催谷作用
2) 負面 - 學生及家長壓力極大 (極之認同只列 2/3 同級成績)

校方是否極之鼓勵同學參與遊學團？

Yes, the School encourage students to join the tours.  The choice for F.1 students is to England.  But I don't know how much will the school will sponsor the students.  I've heard it may be 50% sponsorship.   :
