Conditional Offer for Non JUPAS (IB)

真心想知CU, HKU, 科大等出 Conditional Offer 睇吾睇EE and TOK？ 我女兒學校出的Predicted Grade 沒有EE and TOK 的分！

另外，如果學校 under estimate, 大學沒有俾Conditional Offer,  但最後IB 成績比PG好，會不會再 consider？可否將最後的IB成績再向大學 submit? 請指教！

EE 同TOK?總有人有offer選擇放棄，最後應成績向大學報，三大會回覆的。講番真實如AL，比IB通知成績遲約ㄧ個月，8月中才有，三大冇offer,最後AL成績出來比預期差，第一間話offer派晒，問考慮另一科有位，試咗但拒絕了，第二間因offer派晒，可下年再試，第三間掹車邊收咗。。。。都係果句自古成功在嘗試!

Conditional Offer 睇吾睇EE and TOK？ 6 modules reflected the student's academic profile, core - they may add 1-2 and then more or less know the PG.

No conditional offers is pretty normal in HK, unless your PG and interviews are excellent. When her actual score released, university will contact her for interview or directly offer a space (she had interview before) if her score is up to the par.

My son's experience, he was interviewed by Big 3 in different programs, only UST had a conditional offer, all others needed to wait for IBDP result released - interviews, rejected and offers.

For non-jupas admission in HK, conditional offer does not make much difference. As long as you got good grade, for example, if you got 44-45 points, both university medicine program will accept you without any hesitation.

Oh. Interesting. My son's school did give predicated score for EE+TOK. There is actually a space for him to submit the predicated EE+TOK grades on the online form. He only applied to CUHK so not sure about other universities.

Your son applied to 神科 with HKU and CUHK and those might be different?
May be most other programs do give conditional offers.

Do you know what you are talking about?
You do not seem to know much about how the "predicted grades" and "final grades" work.

PG 45 is not 狀元。
You need a final grades of 45 to be named as 狀元.

As far as I know, you need a PG of 44 (or may be at least a PG of 43) to even get into the interview stage of medicine.
The 41 you said, is probably a condition only.

thx,自己腦退化有可能，好似番D舊post講,IB放榜前一日大學一早知狀元是誰，問定入医。。。用亞大AL成績講，學校考A，估坐A有B，但出來是E一樣照報

IB results can be checked online.
If I remember it right, the time we could login to check the results was afternoon Hong Kong time.
Students of course would apply in advance to medical school. Otherwise, how can medical schools get their phone number? I am not exactly sure when universities can get hold of applicant's final IB grades. But since everything is done electronically, I am not surprised universities get the information at the same time students and secondary schools get them. Thus universities can thus initiate the phone calls right after the results are released, and so it would be in the evening hong kong time.
There is no such thing as IB放榜前一日 anyone knows the result.
Hong Kong newspaper coverage can only be done on the next day (or even after). May be that is why there was misunderstanding.

I would not comment on AL as I am not exactly familiar.
Final IB grades is roughly 20-30% internal assessment score, and 70-80% public exam score.
The only subject that has no public exam is I think visual arts. They have to deal with external crit instead of a written exam.
So the PG (which is based on internal assessments plus teachers prediction) can be different from final IB score.
However like I said, PG are good and fair estimate of students final grades. But anything can happen. All really depends on the performance (and luck) of students at the May exams.

神科一樣會出 conditional offer ，要 PG 高分 + interview 過關。
如果 PG 未夠大學要求的 threshold，大學會睇定 d ，等埋 final grade。

老師係看一年半的表現去做 estimation，你平時分數如何，PG 也不會高或低很多。
恕我直言，事有因果。是否近期較 hea ? 對老師態度如何？
平時幾多分？PG 幾多 ？甚麼狀況覺得老師 under estimate ?

Asked HKU Admission Office.  If a student's PG is not good enough to secure a conditional offer are the regular admission round, he/she can submit the final grade for reconsideration when the FG is available.  
I am just curious to know if his chance of being admitted finally will be lower than the case where the PG was more accurate.

No, as long as your child has got better final result than others who also has no conditional offer or failed their conditional offers. For HKU (and most universities in HK) admission, what they care most is candidate's final result.

For all universities (HK or overseas), they will consider the "latest" grades available.
Before the FG is released, you have to rely on the PG.
But once the FG is out, they no longer care what your PG was and they do not really care whether your PG was accurate.

I recalled an IB perfect score student claimed he got a call from HKU medicine offering a place for him even though he had not applied.  That was in the news last year or so.  Not sure how accurate it was.

I remembered that discussion one year ago.
I think someone shared that the student did apply to other programs at HKU.
Otherwise, how do you think they got his number?
